Niccolo Manno

Born in Paris (France) in 1977 but from Austrian and Italian descent.I grew-up in Paris but always enjoyed our holidays around Europe and in particular Austria where MY mountains are. After 12 years in France, I lived in Germany (Munich and Passau) for 9 years where I attained my baccalaureat and my Bachelor of economics from Passau University.I entered the Paris Business School ESCP-EAP in 1998 where I met Cyril. After graduating in 2001, I joined UBS Investment Bank where I currently act as Director and am based in Hong Kong.
My wife is the lovely Manon (no Cyril, Manon is the best!).
I started riding a motorbike 4 years ago in London. I started off with a Honda Hornet, a Ducati Monster and lately the BMW R1200GS (the one I will use for this trip). I really enjoyed riding and after a while I started thinking about a motorbike adventure. So this is it, enjoy the pictures, the blog and keep in touch! We will be far from home, so please send us some news from time to time.

Cyril Ducau

Born in Bordeaux - France in 1978, I grew up in Martillac, a small village in the Bordeaux wine country and developed very early a passion for outdoor activities and travel adventures. After a high school degree and a “classe prepa” in Bordeaux, I entered the Paris Business School ESCP-EAP in 1998. This is where Niccolo and I first met. After studies that took me through Paris, Oxford and Berlin, I moved to London in 2001 to start a career in investment banking. Up until this adventure, I was a Vice-President with Morgan Stanley based in London.

I am now engaged to Maddy (she is the very best!) and hoping to get married by 2009. Outside of travelling and motorbiking, I try to dedicate my free-time to photography, develop my passion for wine-making and practice various sports (depending on the mood and my physical condition…).

After many (very proud!) teenage years on the back of a Peugoet 103, my motorbiking experience started with a Suzuki TUX 125cc in 2001. In 2006, I bought a Ducati Monster 620i from Niccolo - great ride but so unreliable... For the Eurasian motorcycle adventure, I will be riding a Honda Transalp 650.
